Frequently Asked Questions

Photography sessions

Where does the shoot take place?

On location at your offices, or outdoors. We bring a full lighting setup with us, so no studio visit is needed.

Do you travel outside London?

Yes, regularly. We are booked to photograph nationwide teams for larger organisations and regional offices for smaller companies, bringing the same lighting and the same treatment to every site so a company with six offices still looks like one organisation.

Travel is quoted with the booking. Where a company has people in several cities, photographing everyone across a run of consecutive days is usually quicker and cheaper than arranging separate visits, and we will suggest the order that costs you least. For anyone at a site we cannot reach, Augmented Imagery can match them to the same set from photographs they already have.

What space do you need?

Less than most people expect. A small or medium meeting room is enough for the majority of office shoots. As a rough guide we need about three metres by four, a power socket, and somewhere nearby for people to wait their turn.

A plain wall is useful but not essential. We bring backgrounds and a full lighting setup, so the room does not need windows, daylight or any particular decoration, and we can work around a table that will not move. If you are unsure whether a room will do, send us a photograph of it and we will tell you before the day rather than on it.

How many people can you photograph?

A half day covers five to twenty people and a full day up to fifty, which is most of what we do. We also photograph up to two people in a one hour booking at your office.

Can you photograph just one person?

Yes, in a one hour booking that covers up to two people. Where you have an office we come to you, which is how most of these are done. If you do not have somewhere suitable to photograph in, we also run set days in the City, so ask and we will tell you when we are next nearby. For a single portrait at short notice, Augmented Imagery is often the better route, using photographs you supply.

How long does each person take?

It depends on the person. Some people feel at home in front of a camera, and we have what we need in a couple of minutes. Others would rather be anywhere else. For them, a good portrait starts with time to settle in.

We give everyone a time slot to keep the day on track, but ask you to allow a little flexibility. Nobody is rushed through, and we finish each sitting with a portrait they’re happy with and everyone is photographed within the booking time.

What should I wear?

Something without a strong pattern, so it does not distract from your face. Bring at least three options.

Can you match the style we already use?

Yes. Where an organisation has an established look, we match lighting, background and framing so new photographs sit alongside the existing ones but if the look and feel cannot be achieved we can book augmented imagery to match the backgrounds.

Do you shoot in black and white?

Yes. Tell your photographer before the session, so the lighting can be set for it.

Are the images retouched?

No, and it is worth being clear about the difference. Every image is colour corrected as standard: that is processing rather than manipulation, setting exposure, colour and contrast so the picture looks like you did on the day. Retouching the photograph itself, from blemishes to stray hair, is a separate service at £50 + VAT per image. Building a new image from a photograph you supply, in a different setting, outfit or environment, is Augmented Imagery: £125 + VAT for each new original image, and £50 + VAT for further versions made from the same original.

Can a make-up artist be arranged?

Yes. We can book a make-up artist or hair stylist for your session, charged separately. Please ask in advance.

Who owns the copyright?

Copyright in every photograph remains with Headshot London, and images should be credited © Headshot London. Your licence to use the images for PR, LinkedIn, company and individual website is agreed with the commission though advertising is not, and copyright can be bought outright by arrangement.

Booking and payment

How do I book?

Email booking@headshotlondon.pro, call 07940 444641, or message us on WhatsApp using the CHAT button at the top of the page.

When do we pay?

Payment is taken on all sessions in advance via third party card facilities or bank transfer.

What is the cancellation policy?

More than 48 hours before the session, you can move it to another date at no charge. If you would rather cancel outright, we refund in full.

Inside 48 hours the fee is not refundable. The day is held for you and cannot be filled at that notice. We will always try to move you rather than see the fee wasted, but the fee stands.

When do we receive our images?

Our turnaround time is typically 3-5 days in most cases but in exceptionally busy periods it can take 7-10 days.
